I have also seen the strange goings on with the postman and mafia guy. I spent most of last summer in Pwllheli and had several meals there. The postmans very loud and is obviously very friendly with the barperson.
The foods good but sit near the front of the pub away from the postman and his ontarage, this includes several dodgy dudes who are constantly on the questions and answers machine.
I must admit there is always something going on there so from an outsider point of view its very entertaining.
The food is very good although the beer is very expensive. I am back in there over easter so will update my review after this visit. -

The mitre hotel is a nice pub all the staff are nice and the customers are all friendly, as for the postie and the gangster.they are really nice people and good fun :) the mitre doesent serve food so no comment about that!! If you don't like the place..simply don't go there! This is obviously a personal grievance that someone has with the mitre and the staff/customers.

Hanging Really awful pub where the bar staff are not present. Judging by the clientele, I guess they just help themselves, and possibly top up their baby feeding bottles with lager. It's like a creche for the Jeremy Kyle show ..

A great little old fashioned pub on the main square in Pwllheli. There isn't much outside space really, smokers are reduced to huddling up by the door, but if you want to sit in a relatively quiet pub sipping a pint, maybe watching the footie or having a go on the fruit machine this place is ideal.
The music is never too loud, so you can have a decent conversation with your mates. It's not a particularly trendy pub, but traditional selling real ales and large meals. It's worth a visit. If you find it to be a little too old man-ish for your tastes, head up past the sandwich bar, past the chippy, and go into the pub on your right - this will be right up your street. -

dump? place smells needs to spend a few quid on it ,sells microwave meals and say there home made ? just look at the place? better places in town to have a pint and lunch BLACK LION NOW SELLS HOME MADE FOOD AND HAS BEER IN ALL THE TIME ?INC BANK HOLIDAYS and the mafia guy and the nob head postie dont go there ?
